I thought for a split second that this was from the Antrim coast in N Ireland - with the headlands and the rock of cormorants. The lighthouse is the only thing out of place :) Do the seals have to wait for high tide to refloat them?
Sea lions or seals... great shot of them sharing the sun. This must be on the west coast.. I'd love to take several weeks and just amble about taking pictures there.
I figure you'd rather have processed this a little and sharpened this or saturated that or whatever it is you do. But honestly I like it just like it is. In the raw, just like the subject in it. The fading on the ... lighthouse? Tower? Probably wouldn't look right all spiffed up.
The photos on this blog primarily chronicle my travels in and experiences from around the USA and Europe (and eventually Africa) since 2004. As I began this blog in January 2009, pictures are presented in no discernible chronological order. If visitors play nice, I may also pull a few film scans from my childhood.
As a secondary objective, photos snapped in 2009 and later are for the most part adventures with my new DSLR, a Nikon D40. I aim to learn much about photography and apply this knowledge to my photos. My postings will often contain technical jargon as I believe that shooting technique, camera setup, and post-processing are all important parts of photography. I do like compliments, but as I am merely a beginner, I fully appreciate criticism and suggestions as well.
Nice shot! Love the patina of the lighthouse and its contrast with that gorgeous blue water.
ReplyDeleteMy post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Very nice photograph - I love that blue water
ReplyDeleteGreat picture. It looks like that rock is prime real estate for the birds and seals.
ReplyDeleteCormorants and harbor seals, looks like California.
ReplyDeleteSimply amazing gorgeous looking view
ReplyDeleteLove the blue and the cormorants

ReplyDeleteSeals and cormorants, that is simply so fun to see! Ok - the water is blue and great - but those animals together on that little cliff is so cool!
ReplyDeleteGood shot.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like it could be at Alcatraz, is it?
Looks like you are having a boat ride?
ReplyDeleteAnyway I like the background of the photo (the mountain behind) and I love the color of the water (sea water dark blue green)...c",)
