Skywatch Friday 47/13 - What Else?

Despite having visited the bay area five or six times, I still found myself wandering around Crissy Field and staring at the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday. (Sorta) New camera and a fairly nice sky of course meant that my memory card inched a few dozen megabytes closer to capacity.

Without my typical editing software and utilities, I feel like this and the Watery Wednesday post don't exactly look like I want them to (noisy sky, distorted perspective, dull colors in the bottom half, etc). And working in OS X and on a laptop is a bit of a change as well. In a few days I'll be back to the familiar comforts of my aging desktop from the advent of XP, but until then there's much to see, do, and photograph.

  1. Oh, I wouldn't change a thing in this photo! It's marvelous! Sometimes straight from the camera is just right!

  3. I love looking at my city through different people's eyes, or camera lens. This is perfect, but of course I'm biased. I am a fan of yours and this is my home :)

  5. I agree with Barb! Sometimes, the entity is great as it is! The picture was stunningly beautiful when I uploaded it and left me with a desire to visit that very spot. So keep taking pictures, so we can keep enjoying them!

  6. That's a beautiful colour in the water. There's nothing that needs changing in this picture, except the straightening (but at least I don't feel bad about my downhill skywatch this week!). Been missing your posts - they always cheer me up.

And lol! Those sharpenings were entirely random and natural - I'd just scooped them into a pile and was about to brush them into the bin when I decided to photograph them :)

  10. Its lovely like your photos usually are, but I know how you feel posting un-touched photos. I always want mine to be the best they can be. I've seen how you can make your photos look and they're even more fabulous than the originals.

  14. I'm a big fan of straight-from-the-camera shots, though I understand what you mean when you say you'd rather be able to do at least basic contrast adjustment and so forth. Still, there's not a thing not to like about this image. It's timeless.

  15. I can see the noise but no dull colours. I think this is one of the better sky watch shots I've seen to night actually. :)
